I was having a chance traveling to Thailand as a photographer for the MongoDB Conference, and it was an unforgettable experience that went far beyond just taking pictures.

My main role was to document the behind-the-scenes setup — everything from the registration counter and pull-up banners, to the PA system team, stage setup, and projector installation. It was fascinating to witness how each team member contributed to bringing the event to life, and I was there to capture those important, often unseen moments.

In addition to photography, I was also responsible for briefing the local crew on how the registration process would work. This meant getting to know the team, aligning on details, and making sure everyone was clear on their roles.

What made this experience even more special was the connection I formed with the Thailand crew. Despite language and cultural differences, we worked seamlessly together — and by the end of the setup, it felt like we had known each other for much longer. Their kindness, professionalism, and team spirit left a strong impression on me, in which made me willing to come back to meet up with them again!

This journey reminded me that photography isn’t just about visuals — it’s also about capturing collaboration, effort, and the human experience. I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow personally and build new friendships along the way.
